OPTAV DVI fiber extender is a detachable single LC optical transmission kit built for long-distance DVI and compatible HDMI video signal extension. To start with, this metal-cased optical transceiver delivers a stable 10.2Gbps video bandwidth, breaking the transmission limits of ordinary copper cables without extra repeaters or distribution amplifiers. Moreover, it adopts a 1310nm laser light source and supports two mainstream fiber types, enabling 300-meter transmission via OM3 multimode fiber or ultra-long 2km delivery over single-mode fiber. Meanwhile, the DVI fiber extender offers flexible resolution compatibility for both native DVI signals and HDMI sources paired with an HDMI to DVI cable, bringing versatile signal extension solutions for commercial display, industrial monitoring and AV engineering projects.

1. Multi-Spec Resolution Compatibility for DVI & HDMI Signals
First of all, this DVI fiber extender supports native Single Link DVI signals up to 1920*1200@60Hz with YUV 4:4:4 color sampling. In addition, it can work with HDMI sources by matching an HDMI to DVI conversion cable. Specifically, it handles 4K×2K@30Hz YUV 4:4:4 and 4K×2K@60Hz YUV 4:2:0 HDMI signals smoothly. Apart from wide resolution coverage, it retains practical EDID learning function to read and store display EDID data automatically, which helps stabilize signal matching between signal sources and display terminals. It should be noted that this model does not carry DDC and HDCP functions, making it ideal for non-encrypted video transmission scenarios.
2. Dual Fiber Transmission Options: 300M MMF & 2KM SMF
For optical transmission performance, the DVI fiber extender is fitted with a single LC fiber port and built-in 1310nm laser source. Correspondingly, users can choose OM3 multimode fiber for indoor short-distance layout with a maximum 300-meter reach, or switch to single-mode fiber to realize cross-room, cross-equipment-room transmission up to 2 kilometers. What’s more, fiber optical transmission completely avoids signal attenuation and electromagnetic interference issues that plague copper wiring, so it maintains clear, lag-free video output over the full transmission range.
3. Detachable Single LC Structure & Compact Metal Housing
When it comes to structural design, the unit features a detachable single LC fiber layout to simplify on-site cabling and concealed installation. Besides, both transmitter and receiver adopt sturdy black metal casings with identical dimensions of 69.5×39×12.4mm. More importantly, the whole device runs on low power consumption of only 1.4W, which reduces long-term operating load and supports continuous daily operation. Each TX and RX unit uses independent DC 5V 1A power supply for stable and reliable power input.
4. Ultra-Wide Operating Temperature Range
Furthermore, this DVI fiber extender boasts excellent environmental adaptability to fit harsh working conditions. It supports an extremely wide operating temperature range from -40°C to 85°C, so it can operate steadily all year round in unheated industrial workshops, outdoor equipment cabinets and high-low temperature monitoring rooms without extra temperature control equipment.
